Coaching Philosophy

Our first priorities are fun and safety. Beyond that, we want to develop healthy athletic habits so that the athletes' desire for and ability in the sport of triathlon continue to grow with their bodies. By not only coaching the athletes on the "What" of a workout, but also the "Why" we will instill important concepts such as:

  • The body's varying nutritional needs pre, post and during workouts
  • Proper hydration
  • Utilizing dynamic stretching movements to warm the body up
  • Cross training to minimize overuse injuries
  • The need for rest and recovery to make gains
  • Varying workout length and intensity to develop speed and endurance
